GO Battle League: Season of Light Cup rules

With the start of season 12 in Pokemon GO, comes the start of another season of battle league

GO battle league: season of light starts on Thursday 1st September 2022 at 1pm PDT. It will last right up until the end of the season on December 1st

At the beginning of the season the following occurs

  • End-of-season rewards will be available from last season
  • Your GO battle league rank will reset
  • Rank up requirements will remain the same as the previous season

This article will lay out the Different League/Cup formats and their rules in season 12 of the battle league

Halloween Cup Ultra edition

Cup / League formats in GO Battle League: Season of Light

Each League/Cup comes with its own mini set of rules.

Here is a breakdown of each League/Cup and their respective rules for season 12 in the GO Battle League

Great League

  • Pokemon must be at or below 1500 CP

Ultra League

  • Pokemon must be at or below 2500 CP

Master League

  • No CP limit

Ultra Premier

  • Pokemon must be at or below 2500 CP
  • Legendary or Mythical Pokemon are not eligible

Ultra Premier Classic

  • Pokemon must be at or below 2500 CP
  • Legendary or Mythical Pokemon are not eligible
  • Pokemon powered up by XL candy are not eligible

Master Premier Classic

  • No CP limit
  • Legendary or Mythical Pokemon are not eligible
  • Pokemon powered up by XL candy are not eligible

Little Jungle Cup remix

  • Pokemon must be at or below 500 CP
  • Only Normal, Grass, Electric, Poision, Ground, Flying, Bug and Dark types are eligible
  • Shuckle and Smeargle not eligible
  • Salandit not eligible
  • Three Pokemon most used by Ace rank and above in the last Little Jungle cup are not allowed so Skorupi, Cottonee and Ducklett are banned

Evolution Cup

  • Pokemon must be at or below 1500 CP
  • Only Pokemon that have evolved at least once and can evolve again are eligible

Psychic Cup

  • Pokemon must be at or below 1500 CP
  • Only Psychic type Pokemon are eligible
  • Mew is banned

Weather Cup

  • Pokemon must be at or below 2500 CP
  • Only Fire, Water, Ice and Rock type Pokemon are eligible

Halloween Cup

  • Pokemon must be at or below 1500 CP
  • Only Posion, Bug, Dark, and Fairy type Pokemon are eligible

Halloween Cup: Ultra edition

  • Pokemon must be at or below 2500 CP
  • Only Posion, Bug, Dark, and Fairy type Pokemon are eligible

Willpower Cup

  • Pokemon must be at or below 1500 CP
  • Only Fighting, Psychic, and Dark type Pokemon are eligible
  • Gardevoir is banned

Element Cup remix

  • Pokemon must be at or below 500 CP
  • Only Fire, Grass and Water type Pokemon are eligible
  • Only Pokemon that are able to evolve and have not evolved even once are eligible
  • Salandit is banned
  • The three Pokemon most used by Ace rank and above in the last Element Cup are not allowed in the Element Cup remix so Cottonee, Ducklett and Chinchou are banned

Catch Cup: Season of Light edition

  • Pokemon must be at or below 1500 CP
  • Only Pokemon caught during the Season of Light allowed (1st Sept- 30th Nov)
