The next event in the Pokemon GO season of Aloha is the Lush Jungle event.

This starts on Tuesday March 22nd at 10am local time and finishes on Tuesday March 29th at 8pm local time.

Here is a breakdown of everything in the Lush Jungle event

Lush Jungle weekend park spotlight

From Saturday March 26th at 10am till Sunday March 27th at 8pm local time there will be a spotlight event taking place at parks where Cottonee will be appearing more frequently

For the first time ever shiny Cottonee will be available. You will need to find your local park to attend to benefit from this mini event. 

Research

The second stage of the season of Aloha special research story will be unlocked at the beginning of the event

A timed research focused on catching Grass type Pokemon and exploring your area will also be available throughout the event. Completing the research will earn items and encounters with various event themed Pokemon.

Fomantis

Pokemon Debuts

Several Pokemon will be making their debuts in this event.

Fomantis the sickle Grass Pokemon and Lurantis the bloom sickle Pokemon make their debuts.

Legendary pokemon Tapu Lele the guardian deity of Akala island also makes its debut (and will feature in the Wednesday 23rd March raid hour)

  • HootHoot
  • Sudowoodo
  • Formantis
  • Ferroseed
  • Pinsir (if lucky)
  • Cottonee (if lucky)

Everything except Metapod and Formantis can be shiny

  • Sewaddle
  • Cottonee

Only Sewaddle cant be shiny

Three star

  • Butterfree
  • Vileplume
  • Parasect
  • Exeggutor

The following Pokemon can be encountered from event themed field research tasks

Formantis and Parasect are the only none shiny available

Thoughts on the event

The Weekend spotlight event will give players a chance to catch lots of Cottonee. You will need to be in a Park to get this benefit though

Wurple, and caterpie in the event from field research are excellent for storing up as the are some of the cheapest Pokemon to evolve

Paras and Parasect are excellent to catch given their higher base stardust per catch

The introduction of three new Pokemon will give players something new to catch

Mega Charizard Y is a nice mega to raid mega energy for
