Zarude the Pokemon

Zarude makes its debut in Pokemon Go. It Is part of the Sword and Shield series of the Pokemon games. It is known as the Rogue Monkey Pokemon and is also mythical.  It possesses a dual typing, Dark and Grass Pokemon. The ideal stats for PvP are:

Ultra League: 10/14/11    level 23.5

Master League: 15/15/15   level 50

Zarude’s release will make it one of the best Grass options available, its dual typing means it offers decent coverage as a Dark Pokemon but there are better overall Dark types currently available.

Its best moveset is Quick move: Vine whip (Grass) and Charge move(s): Powder Whip (Grass) and Dark Pulse (Dark). As its a mythical Pokemon, its second charge move unlock costs 100 candy and 100,000 stardust. The Buddy distance to earn a candy is 20KM

Thoughts on the event

The introduction of Zarude allows everyone to access a Pokemon previously unreleased in Pokemon Go. Its dual typing offers a different option for PvP especially in the Master league.

Explorer Pikachu is a nice addition for players that enjoy catching event themed Pokemon.

Combee is one of the best Pokemon in the wild spawns for this event, namely because of its base stardust per catch of 750. Weather boosted with Rainy or Windy weather its 938 then with a lucky egg 1125 and weather boosted with lucky egg 1406. Larvitar is also a really nice wild spawn for anyone looking for candy to go towards Tyranitar.

Within the raids for the event Lickitung and Chansey are useful. Lickitung which is relatively hard to come by, and Chansey for Holding gyms.

Audino in the field research tasks much like combee provides a huge stardust catch boost. Catching an Audino will give 2100 stardust, 2625 weather boosted with cloudy weather, then 3150 with a lucky egg and 3938 with a lucky egg and weather boosted. This is a huge amount of stardust to get from a single catch so completing as many field research tasks with Audino as the prize will help you rack up stardust fast and efficiently.
